The Society of Physics Students is a club for students interested in physics. All majors are welcome.

The department has a Take a Professor to Lunch program that brings Physics undergrads and faculty together to chat informally and discuss education, research, career, etc.

Equipment SpecialistPaul Lucas

  • Set up physics teaching laboratories in preparation for experimental undergraduate and graduate lab courses, to include the preparation of large and small scientific apparatus, equipment and tools necessary for demonstrations and experiments.
  • Assist faculty in training teaching assistants in the proper use of the scientific apparatus and tools.
  • Maintain, adjust and make routine repairs on laboratory equipment and tools. Report need for complex repairs.
  • Maintain inventory of apparatus, tools, instructional books, service manuals and catalogs related to the instructional laboratory operation. initiate orders to replace items as appropriate, in consultation with faculty members and departmental staff.
  • Unpack deliveries and pack shipments.
  • Assist with the installation of computers, furniture, and equipment.
